DESIGN PHASE: The 3D MODEL
We normally start with a 3D model (.STEP .SLDPRT or .STL). If you don’t have a 3D model, we can help you create one.
Once you are happy with the 3D model, we send the 3D model to a slicing software that will send instructions to the printer to start production.
3D PRINTING
Printed Part!
This is the part out of the printer! This particular part was executed with a bigger nozzle size (8.0 mm), and makes for a Rougher surface Finish but the printed product is structurally stronger. It is made to last and is as strong as any other chair!
POST PROCESSING
Sanding
Surface work is important, that is why we have a whole department dedicated to post processing. We already made your print structurally strong, now we will make it look good. Using specially chosen fillers and sanding the printed seams will make your product just as you envisioned.
Priming
When the surface work is done we proceed to add the Primer.
Priming or undercoat is a preparatory coating put on materials before painting. Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted.
There are some types of primer that are reinforced with Carbon Fiber or Glass Fiber for extra strength.
Painting
And finally painting, this chair was painted with a bone white color, that seals the project, to the specifications of our client.
